My name is Kendra Bott. I am training two heroes and two princesses. I am a writer in my spare time. This site has affiliated links. If you choose to buy the resources I mention, please use the links from my site. All of the curriculum and printables are free for home use.

My original concept for Princess Training came from the book, “How to be a Princess.” It’s full of great ideas and admirable character qualities for girls of all ages to work towards. The qualities listed in the book match with the Proverbs 31 woman, so those are the verses we’ll be studying during Princess Training. My girls are young, so the lessons are geared more for Preschool/ Kindergarten aged. Eventually I’ll add on options for older students.

I have two boys as well as two girls, so I didn’t want to leave them out. I lined up the character qualities so they can be studied at the same time my princesses are studying them, and I matched a Super Hero, a Biblical Hero and a Modern Day Hero to study for that week. My boys are 3rd and 8th grade, so the Hero lessons are a bit more in depth. But the option for younger boys is to do the tracing/ color page not the copy work and leave out the modern heroes. I made sure to add men and women heroes, because women and men, though different, are equal, and I want my boys to understand that. And, truthfully, Hero Training can be used for both boys and girls.

My daughters (and many, many other girls) love Disney Princesses. Though ignorant people may say training to be a “princess” is backwards or spoiling, I argue that a princess (Disney or real life) isn’t one who sits around all day and gets waited on hand and foot. Princesses are strong and hardworking, creative and caring. In my book, they make for some pretty good role models.
