Princess Sight Words

Teaching my kids to read has been my favorite experience as a homeschool teacher. I love seeing the light bulb light up when they finally get it. My first son was a natural. Reading came easy for him. At the end of his Kindergarten year, he was reading at a fifth grade level. Of course, he was my only student at the time. With my next two, not only did they not get as much one on one time with me, but reading didn’t come as easy. I had to get creative on how I taught. Magnet letters, flip books and feature stories with crafts and games were added to the school day.

Princess training with my Kindergarten Princess called for a Princess spin on learning to read. I designed these Princess Sight Word Cards yesterday and my little princess couldn’t wait to try them. My plan is to go through them once a week (along with other reading, phonics, Bob books, flip books, etc.) or so until she can recognize the words in other stories.

I hope your princess enjoys them too.
